Room 17 Online Learning Week 1:

Hello Room 17

Here are your learning tasks for the week.  Please feel free to take pictures of work that you are proud of and email them to me your classroom teacher Miss Armiger rebecca@elmpark.school.nz. 

Science in a van on YouTube also does live experiments at 12:45pm everyday so head over there to check these out!

Hope you have fun completing the learning tasks at home with your parents. I look forward to seeing pictures of you amazing work.

Remember it is ok to make mistakes as long as your are trying your best.

MONDAY

READING

1. Read one story from your book bag to yourself or someone in your family.

2. Choose your favourite character and draw picture of them.

3. Write a few sentences explaining why they are your favourite character This was my favourite character because ....

4. Spend some time on Literacy Planet completing the quests or some time on Get Epic reading books and completing the quizzes at the end of the story.

WRITING

1. Make a list of things that you would dream to have in your bedroom.

2. Extra for Experts: Draw a picture of your dream bedroom.

MATHS

Skip Counting
1. Count forwards in 10's up to 100.

3. Look at the picture below, all the piles are in groups of tens, skip count in ten's to count how many there are.

Te Reo Māori: Days of the Week: write the English day and then write next to it the Māori day of the week. Use the picture below to help you with the correct spelling.

TUESDAY

READING

1. Read one book from your book bag to yourself or someone in your family.
2. Read another book either from your book bag or a book in your house to yourself or someone in your family.
3. Choose your favourite book out of the two you just read and draw your favourite part in the story.
4. Write a few sentences explaining why it is your favourite story This was my favourite part in the story because ....

WRITING

1. Make a list of all the things that your mum and dad always say to you
2. Punctuation: Can you finish that sentence? Add the correct punctuation marks at the end of the sentences below. 

MATHS

1. Spend some time on Matific completing the different tasks in the full course tab. Remember to complete the tasks that Miss Armiger has set you in school work first. 

2. Place Value: How many tens and ones are in numbers. Looks at the pictures below and write down on a piece of paper how many tens and ones are in the pictures.

READING

1. Spend some time on Literacy Planet completing the quests.
2. Go on to Sunshine Online Classics and read some books and complete the tasks.
3. If you do not have a computer at home and read some books you have in your home.

WRITING

1. Pretend you are a prince and princess and write a made up piece of writing about something you did while you were the prince or princess.

2. Spend some tine on typing.club practicing your typing skills.

MATHS

Number of the Day: 
1. Pick a number from the 100 square below

2. Using the number you have chosen complete the number of the day chart on a piece of paper

VALUES

Respect:  Come up with an answer for the following question: What is the kindest things you have ever done for someone?

Animal Facts: Look at some different animal facts and write down tow facts that you found really interesting.

2. Pick two numbers from the dice activity below and complete the sentences about one of the books you read.

3. Go on Literacy Planet or Sunshine Online Classic

WRITING

1. Descriptive Writing: Describe your favourite holiday. Think about:  What happens on that day? What are the sights? What are the sounds? What are the smells? Does anyone come to visit on this day? What types if foods do you eat? Write a description of this special day.

MATHS

1. Count forwards in 5's to 100.
2. Watch this video to help you.

1. Spend some time on typing.club practicing your typing skills.

2. Spend some time on boom writer.

MATHS

1. Spend some time on matific.
2. Spend some time practicing your basic facts on extra maths.
